The eagerly awaited 1.3 update is a mini-revolution for FML. Crammed with great new features both large and small, and an updated match engine too, the update adds unprecedented new levels of matchplay. The changes enable managers to enjoy a wider variety of games than ever, whilst also giving them a greatly enhanced degree of control over the fate of their teams both when on and offline. 1.3 introduces a body of custom-built bot teams to the game. These teams are always available for managers to test their sides against, be it to get players fit, test the strength of trialists, or search for winning team selections and tactics!
There are an incredible 20 levels of teams, with each extra level meaning an opponent is tougher to beat. Within each grading, there are differing types of opponents - some are strong but slow, other teams have individuals who are as fast as lightning. See the image above for an example!
Have you ever signed out of FML and worried what your team may do in your absence? Sat at work when you should have been at home guiding your side through a big match? Well if so, an excellent development for the more casual FML user is the ability to create Match Plans in 1.3.
This great new feature allows you to comprehensively dictate how you want your team to go about their business when you're not around - what tactics should they use, what should they do if they go ahead - or, (God forbid!) if they go behind?! At what point does your supersub appear, when in a game must your team throw caution to the wind and go for broke? Match plans give you control over all of the above.
1.3 introduces the FML manager to the latest, bleeding edge version of the FM/FML match engine. It comes with a great set of new tactical 'shouts', which add extra ease to the already excellent tactical system developed in 1.2. See the picture below for a quick look!
Please note, this will be implemented in the nearest "off-season" to the update in your GameWorld, so as to make sure it doesn't affect your league table.
On top of the main new features, 1.3 has all the extra little touches you should expect from a major FML update.
Amongst these changes are new graphics that show off your team colours in all their glory (above), and alterations designed to make those golden-oldies above the age of 30 much more affordable - bargain hunters, get ready to fill your boots!
