VERSION 1.4 - RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 1ST - 'A NEW CHALLENGE'

Start getting yourself ready for what will undoubtedly become the biggest and best FML update yet. 1.4 contains noteable refinements, tons of extra gameplay, and - quite literally - an array of new challenges.

This page summarises the features new to 1.4; the next looks at the biggest enhancements to those already in the game. Read on for more!

YOUTH ACADEMIES/JUDGING POTENTIAL

In response to popular demand, an expanded youth system is on its way into FML. The system sees an academy function enabled in the coming update, with all managers able to build an academy in a nation of their choice. A new skillset can also be learnt that enables extra academies to be built, and at a lower cost. Some youths will still appear as free agents, but academies will become the number one way to enjoy regen exclusivity!

Judging Potential

In line with this planned change, the Judging Potential skill has been redesigned, so that it will now take time to assess a player's potential. The accuracy of an assessment, and the period required to complete it will be based on your JP level (level 5 = 7 days, No JP = 56 days (see pic, above)).

CHALLENGES

Challenges are a new way of leading your side to glory, pitting your team against CPU clubs in an eclectic series of ever-more tricky encounters. From group competitions in which the only goal is victory (see pic, below), to others in which you have to meet specific requirements - such as keeping a clean sheet, or scoring a set number of goals - each Challenge Tree will test your squad in different ways.

REWARD POINTS

Winning Challenges doesn't only grab glory for your team - it's the number one way to earn 'Reward Points'. Collect enough of these and you'll be able to start splashing out in the new and exclusive in-game FML Store.

Buy Stuff!

As one would expect, there's already a wide range of items available for you to cast your eye over. These range from limited edition team-kits (see pic, above) through to iconic club mascots and eye catching new pitch designs - perfect for those who want to show off their stadiums!

NEW SKINS

Good news for Vibrante fans - as of 1.4 FML's iconic skin is available (via the 'add ons' button) in a range of new colours, including the luscious Vibrante Red (see pic, below), and the brooding Vibrante Black.

With a increasing range of excellent options available, choosing which skin to use in FML is now proving a tough choice for many users - be sure to pop onto the SI forums once 1.4 is out and tell us which you go for!

RETURNING STARS

1.4 delivers an innovative new levelling system to existing GameWorlds, in the form of Returning Stars. This runs seasonally, and involves bringing back enough of the game's best retired players (at the age they were upon GameWorld launch) so that each team can receive one.

Draft

The managers who have most recently joined/restarted are given the best players each draft; the game then allocates players to clubs according to their reputation (see pic, above), with the lowest reputation club receiving the best players. Who will you get?
