VERSION 1.4 - RELEASE DATE: 1st February - ENHANCEMENTS
Aside from including great new features, 1.4 also adds fantastic improvements to existing areas of the game. The concepts of a team's repuation and ranking have been refreshed, whilst a new time-based injury system is on its way in too. Read on for more...
CLUB LEVELS
1.4 introduces a new club reputation system*, graded on a 'Level' of 1-20. This seeks to clearly and directly tie club ratings to sustained competitive success. It works as follows: major competitions in domestic FAs and UFFA are all given a maximum attainable Level, varying according to their status. In the elite Gold Cup, for example, you could reach Level 20 - but only if you win. If you crash out in the semis, you'll only get an 18!
What the system does then is take the best Level rating you get in a season, and add it into the calculation for your reputation. The final calc (see pic, above) is split between best attained Level over 3 seasons (75%), and player reputation/ability (25%). *Existing GameWorlds will continue to use the old system until relaunch.
WORLD RANKINGS
To reflect the new reputation system described above, World Rankings have been split into five different bands spanning four reputation Levels each, as follows:
- Bronze Rankings: Reputation Levels 1-4
- Silver Rankings: Reputation Levels 5-8
- Gold Rankings: Reputation Levels 9-12
- Platinum Rankings: Reputation Levels 13-16
- Elite Rankings: Reputation Levels 17-20
You will be allocated to a band based on your Level at the start of each season. The rankings system otherwise works as it did before, with all ranked matches carrying ranking points, but official games carrying the most. Have you got what it takes to mix with the elite?!
AWARDS
There's prizes all round in 1.4, with a great set of new/updated awards.
The classic Team of the Week and Mover of the Week awards are now distributed on a ranking banding basis, thus giving you a better chance to win, whilst a complete set of player awards - with everything from goal and assist awards for seniors, to prizes recognising the promise of the GameWorld's best youths - offer your stars the chance to gain the recognition their exploits deserve!
Most excitingly of all, there are now Youth and Senior Team of the Season awards (see pic), which will surely come to be considered the ultimate honour your lads can recieve! These awards (along with the new player awards) are given not only on a game-wide basis, but also on an FA specific level too - who will win the bragging rights in your leagues?
TEAM ROUNDUPS
1.4 makes it easier than ever to keep up with your team's exploits, with a redesigned manager Homepage, and an expanded daily roundup known as the Nightly Report.
Your Homepage, as always, is your first point of reference upon sign-in, and you can now manage its content, with options to fill sub-boxes (see pic, below) that range from snapshots of your team's league placing to the state of your side's finances and warnings of players whose contracts are near to expiry.
The Nightly Report gives another useful overview, summarising everything from your team's seasonal performance in all official competitions, to the player your side is currently set to be allocated in the Returning Stars draft. You need never be out of the loop again!
INJURIES
1.4 delivers a new match-based injury system that means managers no longer have to wait for their players to get better - how quickly they heal is now down to you!
Here are the essential details:
-
In tandem with the reputation changes described above, aside from training injuries, it’s only from matches in 'major competitions' that injuries will stick.
-
Only games in major competitions will count towards knocking matches off the total number of games your players are injured for.
-
Correspondingly, however, players will only ever be 'injured' for major competition games - they will be available for all other matches.
-
Players can still get “in match” injuries outside of major competitions, but they'll disappear once the game is over!
That concludes our summary of 1.4, but be sure to come back soon for more on the biggest features/enhancements the update has to offer.
